The 2011 Authors & Artists Christmas Faire

The 2011 Authors & Artists Christmas Faire was held at the Penticton Lakeside Resort and Casino on Saturday, November 19th. Open to all authors and artists, this event showcased works of both literary and visual art.

The Penticton Downtown Markets

The Downtown Penticton Association Market runs in conjunction with the Penticton & District Community Arts Council Market and the Penticton Farmer’s Market. Two blocks of Main street from the Lakeside Resort to Nanaimo Square is shut down every Saturday from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm to facilitate about 150 vendors. Throughout the summer you can visit the Red Tuque Books booth and meet authors from various parts of Canada.

2011 Events

January 26th, 27th and 28th - Mary Sue Waisman has donated 600 copies of her cookbook Flavour First to the Penticton area Salvation Army and Food Bank. To get a free copy, just make a donation of cash or non-perishable food items. Books are available between 9:30 and 5:30 Thursday through Saturday at either Red Tuque Books or Hooked On Books, 225 Main Street, Penticton.

January 27th - Tina Powell will be appearing at the Family Literacy Day event presented by the Canucks Family Education Centre. The event will take place at Edmonds Community School in Burnaby at 10:45am. She will be reading from her popular selection, Peter's Poofect Pet
